ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITY – TLATELOLCO – BASILICA – TEOTIHUACÁN TOURS

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN MEXICO CITYArrival at Mexico City International Airport, reception and welcome by our staff. During the transfer to the hotel, the guide will provide information about the upcoming tours. Hotel check-in (rooms are available from 3:00 PM). Overnight stay.

DAY 2 – TLATELOLCO – BASILICA – TEOTIHUACÁN – MEXICO CITY

After the included breakfast, we will head to Tlatelolco to visit the Plaza of the Three Cultures, a site that represents the fusion of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern Mexico. We will enjoy a panoramic view of the ruins of the ancient pre-Hispanic market, where a wide variety of goods from all over Mesoamerica were traded.

We will then continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the sanctuary of Mexico’s patron saint. Here, we will admire the original cloak of Juan Diego with the image of the Virgin. We will walk through Plaza Mariana, visiting the New Basilica, the Old Basilica, the Temple of El Pocito, among other temples, until reaching the monument known as “La Ofrenda.” Time will be provided to attend mass (guaranteed).

Next, we will visit the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán, where we will explore the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, as well as other important ruins. We will also receive a brief explanation about the production of pulque, the traditional pre-Hispanic “white liquor,” and about obsidian crafts. Lunch (without beverages) is included.

San Miguel de Allende
DEPARTURE FROM MEXICO CITY – QUERÉTARO – ATOTONILCO – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

DAY 3 – Monday

DEPARTURE FROM MEXICO CITY – QUERÉTARO – ATOTONILCO – SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Pick-up between 5:00 and 5:30 AM. Breakfast is included en route. We will leave the hotel heading to Querétaro, where we will stop to visit the Temple of the Cross, as well as the aqueduct—an impressive architectural work from the colonial era that supplied the city with drinking water.

On the way, we will visit the Sanctuary of Atotonilco, known as the “Sanctuary of God and the Nation,” considered by UNESCO a World Cultural Heritage Site and by many as the “Sistine Chapel of America” due to its cultural importance and architectural contribution to Mexican Baroque.

We will then continue to San Miguel de Allende, visiting the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel in Neo-Gothic style, the Temple of Our Lady of Health, the Temple of Saint Anthony of Padua, and the Allende Cultural Institute. As we walk through this town, we will also see the first gas pump that ever existed here, the Casa de los Perros (House of the Dogs), named for the balcony decorations, Noah’s Ark, and an old pharmacy that still preserves the traditional style of preparing medicinal formulas.

Guadalajara, Jalisco
GUANAJUATO – TLAQUEPAQUE – GUADALAJARA

DAY 4 – Tuesday – GUANAJUATO – TLAQUEPAQUE – GUADALAJARA

After the included breakfast, we will depart for the city of Guanajuato, known as the “Cervantine Capital of America.” Here, we will hear the legend of the Alley of the Kiss and admire the beautiful architecture of landmarks such as the Juárez Theater, the University, the Basilica of Guanajuato, the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, and the monument to El Pípila, among many others.

We will then continue our journey to Tlaquepaque, where we will stroll through its colorful streets and discover the finest Mexican handicrafts. We will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere filled with charming boutiques, restaurants, and live mariachi music.

At the end of the day, we will arrive in Guadalajara.

DAY 5 – TOUR OF GUADALAJARA – TEQUILA “MAGICAL TOWN” – HACIENDA TEQUILERA 3 MUJERES – CANTARITOS DEL GÜERO

After the included breakfast, we will set out to explore the city of Guadalajara, also known as “The Pearl of the West.” We will walk through its streets and admire its beautiful architecture, visiting landmarks such as the Degollado Theater, Hospicio Cabañas, the Cathedral, and the Government Palace, among others.

We will then continue toward the Magical Town of Tequila. Along the way, we will enjoy the agave landscape, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In Tequila, we will visit the church, the portals, and the main square. During our visit, we will enter a Tequila Hacienda or Distillery, where we will learn about the production process of tequila—the emblematic Mexican drink that brings joy to hearts worldwide. We will see the stills, the cellar, and the distillery, observe the “jima” process, and have the opportunity to taste this delicious beverage.

To finish, we will visit one of the most famous spots in all of Jalisco: the renowned Cantaritos del Güero, where we will relax and have fun while enjoying a refreshing 500 ml Cantarito (a cocktail made with tequila), included in the program.

Patzcuaro
DEPARTURE FROM GUADALAJARA – RANCHO DE LOS 3 POTRILLOS – PÁTZCUARO – MORELIA

DAY 6 – Thursday – DEPARTURE FROM GUADALAJARA – RANCHO DE LOS 3 POTRILLOS – PÁTZCUARO – MORELIA

After the included breakfast, we will continue with a visit to Vicente Fernández’s ranch, Los Tres Potrillos, where we can admire the stables and his impressive horses. (Note: Entry to the ranch is subject to authorization by the artist and his administration. Under no circumstances is access guaranteed. Admission is completely free; the Fernández family does not charge any fee, nor do we as tour operators.)

We will then continue to the city of Pátzcuaro, the former capital of the Purépecha kingdom. Founded in 1534, it is now considered one of Mexico’s “Magical Towns.” Here, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the Casa de los Once Patios (House of Eleven Courtyards) where we will find a variety of handicrafts, the Gertrudis Bocanegra Library with its mural painted by master Juan O’Gorman, Don Vasco de Quiroga Square, and its traditional market.

At the end of the day, we will continue our journey to Morelia. Hotel check-in.

Mexico
MORELIA – MEXICO CITY

DAY 7 – Friday – MORELIA – MEXICO CITY

After the included breakfast, we will explore the city of Morelia, known as “the City of Pink Quarry Stone.” Founded in 1541, it is considered by UNESCO a World Heritage Site and boasts some of the finest examples of Hispano-American Baroque architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries. Highlights include the Cathedral, the Government Palace, Plaza de Armas, the Clavijero Palace, its monumental aqueduct, the Church of La Lupita, and the beautiful square with its fountains.

At the end of the visit, we will return to Mexico City.

DAY 8 – MEXICO CITY AIRPORT

After the included breakfast, at the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight back home. (Regardless of the airport transfer schedule, rooms must be vacated by 12:00 PM, i.e., noon.)
